Bubbles with cherries

Dumplings with cherries or balls made of biscuit or puff pastry are a simple and quick dessert, inspired by Romanian cuisine that capitalizes on the cherries obtained from the production of cherries. This delicious dessert reminds me of my childhood, because I always prepared it during the winter holidays. It is prepared quickly and easily, especially if you use the help and hard work of family members. It is an economical dessert, prepared with simple, less sweet biscuits, such as popular biscuits. For the fasting version you can prepare it with margarine instead of butter and with water instead of milk, find the details and the ingredients. Instead of sour cherries in the middle of donuts you can put raisins or whatever dried fruits you like. So if you want a delicious, quick, economical, fasting dessert, without thermal preparation, I highly recommend this recipe. Good luck with that!

Cake with cheese and coconut balls

Countertop ingredients: 3 eggs + 1 egg white left over from the balls, 180 g sugar, 1 sachet of vanilla sugar, 200 g butter with 80% fat, 180 ml milk, 300 g flour, 1 sachet of baking powder (5g), 2 tablespoons of cocoa, + 3 tablespoons of milk

Ingredients for vanilla cream: 500 ml milk, 5-6 tablespoons sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, 1 sachet vanilla pudding, 100 g butter with 80% fat

Ingredients for decoration: 100 g cocoa

Preparation: Preparation of balls. The cow's cheese is put on a small grater or crushed with a fork. Add sugar, coconut and egg yolk. Mix well with a fork until smooth, then make the balls by hand and round between the palms. Place on a plate and let cool until the dough is ready.

Dough preparation. Sift the flour into a bowl with the baking powder. Separately in another bowl, rub the butter with the sugar until it becomes slightly creamy, then add in turn the 3 eggs and the remaining egg whites from the cheese balls. Mix the composition at low speed until it is well incorporated, then the flour is incorporated, and the milk is thinly mixed. It is mixed until the sinuses are homogeneous, they remain lumpy. The dough obtained is divided into two equal parts. The first is kept simple and in the second half and add cocoa and 2-3 tablespoons of milk to have the same consistency as the first half and mix until well blended. Line a 22 × 30 cm tray with baking paper and pour the plain dough evenly. Pour over it, being careful not to mix the dough with cocoa.

The cheese balls are evenly distributed in the tray over the cocoa dough and lightly pressed to fit halfway into the dough. Preheat the oven to 180 ° and bake the tray for about 35-40 minutes. After baking, remove the tray from the oven and leave the cake to cool in the tray.

Preparation of vanilla cream: In a non-stick pot put the milk mixed with sugar, vanilla essence and pudding powder. Bring to the boil and stir continuously until thickened, then leave to cool. Separately mix the butter until it foams then incorporate the cooled pudding in it and mix well.

The cream is spread evenly over the cooled countertop, sprinkled on top of the cocoa evenly and put the cake in the fridge to harden for about 2-3 hours. Portion with a well-sharpened knife that we wipe well after each cut so that the cream does not spread.

Cheese balls filled with cherries

Cheese balls filled with cherries

1 year ago, before New Year's Eve, I was on the run to prepare a cold plate for a party in which my younger daughter also participates. I quickly turned to one Festive cheese appetizer beautifully colored to look good, but also to be good. Someone thought these Cheese Balls they are sweet and she was somewhat disappointed that they were actually an appetizer. That's how I came to prepare these Cheese balls filled with cherries , which are beautifully colored, are sweet and filled with cherries. If that person is curious about their taste Cheese tickets she now has the opportunity to prepare the recipe herself according to the instructions given below.

Ingredients Cheese Balls Filled with Cherries:

500 g cow's cheese (sweet cheese, shell)
200 g powdered sugar
2-3 sachets of vanilla sugar
200 g coconut (plus another 200 g for decoration)
hazelnuts, cherries, almonds, raisins or nuts
1 packet of Little Fear cookies

Preparation of Cheese Balls Filled with Cherries:
The cheese is mixed with powdered sugar and vanilla sugar and let the composition stand for 10 minutes. Add to this composition 200 g of coconut and mix. If the composition is soft, we add as many grated biscuits as we can to obtain a composition from which we can shape balls. We break the pieces from the composition and in the middle of each one we put cherries or hazelnuts depending on what we want to fill them with. I filled part of them with hazelnuts and part with cherries and then gave them a round shape and rolled them in colored coconut. I had nowhere to buy colored coconut so I improvised as follows. I divided the rooster for decoration into a few bags and then I added a little gel food coloring (a little on a toothpick), I tied the bag and I started rubbing the bag in which my dye was and coconut. I flipped the colored rooster in smaller bowls and then rolled the cheese balls through them. If you want, the balls can be left blank.

Berry cherry bombs. Drunk candy.

In my childhood, this simple but special dessert was present on all holiday tables.

It was, of course, a special dessert for adults because it contains quite a lot of alcohol. In addition to the sour cherry hidden in the middle of the candies, alcohol is also added to the biscuit composition.

My mother used to put cherries or brandy. I put Stroh 40 rum in today's recipe, which I always use for cakes and which gave them a superb flavor.

The recipe can be easily adapted for children as well. Inside you can put cherries from compote, without seeds and we can give up for their sake the alcohol in the composition. For flavor we can use for example, a natural extract of vanilla or orange.

After forming the biscuit balls and hiding cherries in them, we dress them festively for a beautiful look. This time I used 5 decors:

  • ground walnut kernels
  • Coconut
  • cocoa
  • colored candies
  • chocolate decoration

If you have other decorating ideas, they are welcome. The more diverse they are, the more beautiful the platter of drunken candies looks

I recommend you try other ideal dessert recipes for the holiday meals:

Cherry balls

Put the biscuits and nuts through the mincer and mix in a bowl with the grated lemon peel.

Separately, in a saucepan, heat the milk, cocoa and sugar. To prevent lumps from forming, mix the cocoa with a little cold milk and then add it to the pan. At the end, a few drops of rum essence are added. Mix very well until all the sugar dissolves and all the cocoa lumps disappear. The mixture should be lukewarm.

Pour the mixture over the biscuits and walnuts and mix well.

With the wet hand, lumps are formed in the middle of which a sour cherry is inserted. Then add the coconut and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.

  • for 24 pieces of approx. 15 g one
  • 200 g coconut (lightning)
  • 140 g condensed milk
  • 100 g dark chocolate (or milk)

In a bowl put the coconut and condensed milk.

If you can't find condensed milk to buy, you can prepare it according to the recipe here (click).

Mix well with a spoon until the two ingredients are homogeneous.

With wet hands formed balls of the desired size. I made them of about 15 grams one and I came out with 24 pieces.

Melt the chocolate on a steam bath or in the microwave and let it cool a bit. You can use milk chocolate or even white chocolate (but they will be very sweet) if you don't like dark chocolate.

Glaze each ball with chocolate and place them on a baking sheet or on a grill, then let them cool to harden the chocolate.

After about an hour they are just good to enjoy. Enjoy!

* For extra flavor you can add your favorite flavor.
